Aim:
This project focuses on improved prevention and reduction of COVID-19 infection risk focusing on the most vulnerable regions and populations and also with other approaches.
Project Description:
Nepal, first reported the COVID-19 case in January 2020, and the graph of COVID-19 cases increases from March 2020. With this, the spread of COVID-19 has been rapid and people are at high risk of developing and spreading the disease in the community and further increase public health threats.
In response to this, ENPHO with the support of Oxfam has been implementing “Hygiene and Behaviour Change Coalition (HBCC) at Mahalaxmi Municipality, Lalitpur. Adopting Mum’s Magic Hand (MMH) tools as a one of the effective tools for behaviour change in regard to handwashing, this project focuses on prevention and reduction of COVID-19 infection risk focusing on the most vulnerable regions and populations.
Project Outputs:
- Sustained improvement in hygiene and health behaviours that limit the spread of Covid-19
- Gender norms promote equal distribution of hygiene and health related care work among women and men at the household and community level
Major Achievements:
- Completed baseline assessment
- Pretested Mum’s Magic Hand (MMH) story board at community level
